Tell us about the magic you work on fine hair.
Styles for fine and/or thin hair are one of my passions because I have both! I’ve discovered multiple techniques and products to help boost your hair’s ego, and volume! I know the pain of getting a cut that is too texturized, and I promise I won’t do that to you.
How about long layers?
I think long layers are one of the sexiest haircuts out there. Long hair, when well taken care of is beautiful. Add in some layers to give it some texture, movement, and volume, and it can be truly stunning!
What kinds of color do you specialize in?
Blondes, everything from more subtle multi-dimensional foils, to striking bleach and tones. I also really love glazes to give color, sparkle, and shine. Bold special effects statements. And of course I love RED in all it’s beautiful shades. I pretty much really love color.
What’s your approach with new clients?
I really like to put my clients in the driver’s seat. They are the ones who are going to be wearing their hair every day, so I want to make sure they love it. I like to get a good idea of what they have and have not liked about hairstyles in the past. What kind of styling/time commitment they are willing to make to their hair, so we can make an informed, realistic decision on what sort of style they should have, based on their lifestyle. I love it when my clients bring in pictures, even if it’s several pictures, and they like different aspects of each. It really helps give me a good visual idea of what they are thinking. Pictures are an especially good idea if the client wants a drastic change!
What are your interests outside of VAIN?
I love live music, and go to as many concerts as I can afford to! I enjoy getting out of town for a couple days, even if it’s just a couple hours away, and seeing more of this lovely area we live in. I also enjoy oil painting and photography.
Describe your dream hair day.
I like every hair day that’s busy, whether I’m doing haircuts or color. As long as I have lots of happy clients I’m happy!
