What do you love about doing hair and why?: I love doing hair because it’s genuinely my passion! I love helping clients realize their hair dreams and truly making people feel as great as the vision they had for themselves. I love people! I love technique! I love the art and acts of doing hair. They say, “choose a career that doesn’t feel like work and you will never work a day in your life,” Well folks, I did it!
What are some of your specialties?: Curly and multi-textured hair, fine/thin hair, corrective cuts and total transformations.
What's your secret weapon for great hair?: Listening and being open minded I believe that every person is unique, so evaluating every aspect of their lifestyle and communicating clearly with the client is my main goal. I may say no but I will try as hard as I can to help you realize your hair goals. I strive to be helpful and transparent to truly get what YOU want out of your appointment. No BS here, just good feels and great hair.
What are your hair style influences?: Depends on the day. I love psychedelia, the 70’s, punk, and nature vibes.
What inspires you as a hairstylist?: Nature and street fashion. The wide variety of influences available on social media is awesome. I keep up on what’s trendy but always love the chance to do some classic styles as well.
What's your approach with new clients?: Listen, discuss options, make a plan. Give me your hair dreams and I will translate them into real life! I especially love it when people bring inspiration photos!
What's the best hair advice you've ever been given?: No absolutes. Ever.
What inspired you to become a hairstylist?: I started doing all of my friends & family’s hair when I was a teen along with doing my own. I love this industry and feel like I was born to do hair.
Tell us about your education and professional experience.: After cosmetology school I apprenticed at VAIN and have worked here for 12 years. I trained in the Deva Curl technique early in my career, and have taught and taken many classes over the years.
Life/interests outside of VAIN?: I have a 5 year old son. I love being outside, gardening, and any kind of crafting. I love cartoons! I love working with my hands.
